5 Miles in Perfect Weather

Tonight I went 5 miles after work in perfect weather.  Started at the Capitol to Memorial Park and back again.  Man, did my knees hurt the first 1.5 miles.  I don’t know what was up with that, but once I pushed  past that, the pain was virtually gone.  I didn’t pick up my speed with that effort but I didn’t lose time either.

I am nothing without my Ipod though.  If you know me you know I am all about music.  Tonight I ran to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Earth Song and Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses among other songs.  I had a few energy beans and a piece of beef jerky with a couple of bottles of water.  I am trying to train more outside this year.

The temp was 66 – perfect,  so I was able to wear shorts with short sleeve shirt.  Wow, hello spring.

Have a great night!

66 is perfect running weather and these day’s allow you to enjoy running again! Knee pain – how long have you had your shoes???

That’s a good question. I bought them when I was training for last years half marathon. I bought another pair afterwards, but these are more comfortable. Do you think I need to trade them in for a new pair? I’ve done a lot of strength training this time around – leg lifts to try to strenghten muscles that support knees. I think it has helped but yesterday was really painful starting out.
Thanks for your comment, let me know what you think about shoes.
