It’s been 3 weeks now since I started my big “Comeback.” Still going to the Y for workout. Yesterday I did a 5K with my son which was a lot of fun. Even though it was just a 5K and I did a fast walk – not run, I got a little emotional when I hit the finish line with Alex cheering me on. After 6 long years since I crossed a finish line, this truly is my “Comeback” – return to running. This was the big start. I thank the Lord I am able to do such too.
We both walked it. I am afraid to run at my current weight. So am working to lose some weight before running. My daily workout is a “no impact” session of 30 minutes on elliptical and 15 on bike. Walking fast for 3 miles really caused knees to ache afterwards also super tired all day. Going up and down stairs was hard. Now they are fine again (next day) also not so tired. Below is training schedule for the half I plan to run in April. So I need to be down 20 pounds by late January to be able to run. Then continue losing through out training, which would be another 20 pounds.

I’ve lost 6 pounds thus far and my sister noticed right away when she saw me last weekend. Probably, just from shaping up a bit.
