This Saturday is my longest training run of 20 miles. A new first. From this point on, I feel I’m entering into the abyss.
Embarking on something that I once thought impossible. I am relishing this moment and thankful for the people who supported me through out this effort.
So this is it.
I am a slow runner so 20 miles will take me about 4 hours. I’m not sure yet if I’m running on the trail or running around town.
The only thing I am sure of, is that I will put everything I’ve got into that run. My heart, soul, and body.
My sister Dolores has gone with me on the last few long runs. She was always looking out for me (and Greg) growing up…still does.

I’m in the brown swim suit. Lived in it that summer. Pictured here with Dolores and Greg at Lake of the Ozarks.
I always feel my Dad’s presence on the Katy Trail. He would have loved going along on these training runs.
Below is me training for my first half marathon in 2010. That seems like a really long time ago now.
…then running it on that cold and rainy day in New York City.
I wouldn’t even make it to the starting line of any race without the help and support of my family…
and my team mates…
So here’s to all those striving to get to the finish line…like me, you are almost there.
Dad would have loved this!!! Great write up!
Thanks! He’d be calling me saying, “Anne are you ready for your run?” He’ll be out there with me laughing and cheering all the way.
You can do it!! I’m totally with ya. I used to think running any length in the double digits was impossible, but fortunately, I’ve proven myself wrong! Looks like we are on a similar training plan. 🙂
Thanks Sarah! I’m with you too. Stay in touch!
