What???? No Running???

So, I get to the Med Center and am laying on the operating table and as the doctor is marking my arm for the procedure.  He then says, “You know, during the next 2 weeks, you won’t be able to do any lifting and no working out while this wound heals.”  But I can run, right?? “No, absolutely not.”  He said that the incision is too near the shoulder which is hard to heal without a large scar because of movement and such.  Also, perspiration will increase chance of infection.  But I’m training for a half marathon?  He said, “well, this is probably going to put a dent in the training schedule.”  I’ll figure something out.  In the meantime, let the healing begin.

Here is what my arm looked like after the first procedure on July 7th.

Below are the pics of my arm after todays…I hope they got it all.

The good news is that I’m up to $175 on funds raised for Life Runners!  Thanks Donna, Mary Ann, Jim and Judy B.!!  Read more about Life Runners in this National Review article.
