In place of the Crazy Horse Half Marathon that was canceled October 6 due to the worst storm to hit SD ever, (see my last post for details),I’m running the St. Louis Half Marathon next Sunday. Hoping to run my best race yet.
Yesterday was my last long run. I ran 9.4 miles in 2 hours. Pretty good pace for me – for that many miles. I am doing some core training along with running. It really helps. What would help a lot is if I could drop about 20 pounds. Then I’d have to give up some favorite foods and such. Hmmm…. Pace….food/wine…..
I love running in 40 and 50 degree weather. It’s the best. Another reason why I hope this to be my PR.
I am going to run 3 days at 2 to 3 miles this week and then Saturday hit the Expo mid afternoon to get my bib #12614. I’ll meet up with those members of my team that are running the race and then wait till my wave hears the start gun.
This was me in last years race – I ran the full marathon.
Last years St. Louis race brought 16,000 runners from 49 states. That was my first marathon, and it took everything I had.
I can’t wait to get back there and because I’m running a shorter distance, I hope to set a PR.
I’ll let you know.

Wow. Snow. That blows my mind living down here in Alabama and Georgia! Good luck in St. Louis. Go in expecting to come out a personal champ. It increases the odds that you do 😉
