So, it’s a new year…how will this be different from others? Did it start with a bang? Doesn’t matter. What matters is today not yesterday.
I’ve been sick with the flu for the last several days and a UTI before that. Even made a trip to ER because I couldn’t pull out of it and needed to replace lost fluids. Was asleep in bed by 8 pm last night. Made 4 am trip to Walgreens today because dehydration from flu triggers migraines – took my fourth pill (last one) last night for such. Woke up with roaring headache – so off to the drugstore after calling for the refill. Just thankful I could get it and once taken, pain gone by time I arrived back home.
Does being ill on New Years Eve mean the following year will be a bad one??? No. I’m just glad to get back on track and feeling better. It will still take a few days to get stomach back in order. However, going in the right direction.
Today, the Christmas decorations come down and better eating habits following Christmas fare begins. Leftover cookies…out. Dips, spreads, chips….out. All were left from parties and such.
Truvia replaces saccharin, grilled salmon replaces ham. Going back to 6 small meals instead of 3 larger ones. Making better choices and plenty of exercise.
Also, less time on computer. My toughest resolution to follow.
Would love to land a part-time job blogging so I could justify time spent also make money doing something I enjoy.
So, will be pithy with my posts going forward.
2012…what will be?
- For me this year means another half marathon (April) but more importantly…my first full marathon in October.
- Alex will be a senior in HS.
- Jim and I will celebrate our 28th Wedding anniversary.
- Jim and I both lose 20 pounds.
What’s on your agenda for 2012???
Hope you get to feeling better! Love the pictures!
Thanks, staying in today but already improving. Drinking a lot of water. Also craving “hot tamales.” I always crave mexican food when I am recovering from flu. Funny. May have to have a Tamale making party.
Admire your enthusiasm for being so ill starting out the new year. True Grit! Hats off to you, lady!
Thanks, sometimes if I say it…then I think it too – instead of the reverse. Do you like hot tamales?
